Local Church Reflection:
The local church is the light in a dark world. It is a place where people meet to worship God. A church does not have to be a certain member of people, in fact it can be just two or three people. Matthew 18:20 (KJV) “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” However, as Christians we should tell others about God and do our best to bring them into fellowship of the local church. In fact, this is for the entire world. Mark 16:15 (KJV) “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Nevertheless, this paper will concentrate on a local church, with its strengths and opportunities for improvement. They have parents that do not attend any church. This local church is great at reaching out to these children. They have individuals that visit them on Saturday to ensure it is okay with their parents or guardian for them to come to church. Then Sunday morning they send a bus to pick them up. However, that is not all. Very few (if any) of the children has breakfast, some come without their hair brushed, and some come in clothes that are dirty or torn up. The church has a nursing home service once a month. They go to the nursing home and have a service for he individuals that cannot leave and go to church. They have hospital visitation when needed and this includes members and non-members alike. They also participate in the city Halloween gathering and different actives at the local schools. These are all great, but more could be done. The community outreach focus on the elderly and the children.
The one thing missing in this area is the teenage group. There may not be Any established community activity for the teenage group. Nevertheless, the church can have something to bring them into the church.
