Lizbeth Monologue

“Jenny!”
I looked up from my notebook, “Hey, Lizbeth!”
“You ready for tonight?” She sits next to me under the ramada.
“Always ready for filming! We’ve been working on this scene for so long, if we have to have another rehearsal, I will scream.”
“Nobody will be louder than you than me,” Lizbeth rolled her eyes.
“Why did we want to make a movie? We are in 7th grade, totally untrained, and have barely any resources.”
“Yeah, but you know why we’re stuck with it- if you have an idea, and really don’t think it will happen, don’t mention it to Ashlyn.”
Ashlyn is the most ambitious person in the school, with a mind running 452 mph (something she told me a while ago). She is living in the future through her goals and dreams, and I would not be surprised if, by now, she has officially achieved time travel.
“Wait, did Ashlyn ever find a person to play the part of Norman?”
“Yep. But she insisted on not introducing that part yet. She would never admit it, but I think that she’s tired of this scene, too,” Lizbeth sighed.
The scene in question was barely the third one. This movie was wearing me down, and we haven’t even established the plot! Between school, soccer, and our other extracurricular activities, it’s been slow progress. Besides, we’re kids-with acting experience totaling zero, except Ashlyn and a couple other kids involved who are in drama. However,

The scenes themselves have to be rehearsed at least six times. The costumes were difficult to get, as well. It’s been hard, but we’ve been able to take whatever “jungle” scenes there are and edit them with the computer. Contrary to all this work, however, there’s been a lot more laughing than complaining and it’s amazing how many people were willing to do it. When they started hearing about it, our classmates have randomly asked to be in the movie and have commented how cool it is that we’re doing it. The librarian has even offered to help with all of the technology programs we may have trouble

In the very best examples of claymation, a filmmaker’s ability to focus on subtle movements and details makes their characters look lifelike and fluid. If you’ve done a good job building your clay character, they’ll end up looking less like Frankenstein’s Monster and more like something you might find walking down the street! One of the ways that professional clay animators do this is by making multiple versions of one feature of a character, rather than trying to move it for each frame. For example, a clay person might have 20 or more mouths, each one with different expressions that the animator can swap out in between shots. If the character is smiling, their smile has to grow.…

Hello and welcome! Thanks for coming by today. So, I have an idea for a movie that will be unlike anything you have ever heard of, thought of, or have seen. One of the best things about this pitch you’re going to hear is that it is for an animated film project, which allows us to save some costs and yet be even more adventurous. I got the idea from a Chinese graphic novel and I have lined up Chinese investors to bring the idea to the screen.…

“The use of a range of production techniques can help a director to develop characters.” The vision Brad McGann had for, “In My Father’s Den”, was to create an intimate, slow burning film that was “a character driven plot” about a damaged soul, which the audience learns as being war photographer, Paul Prior. Since the film is character driven it is crucial that the characters (such as Paul and Celia) are well developed throughout the film. While production techniques such as lighting, setting and pathetic fallacy all assist McGann in the characters development, the actors themselves can also affect the way the character is developed – poor acting or presentation of dialogue can render the production techniques useless as the audience gets the…
