Even though it was difficult to understand the words of the vocalist, it was still noticeable that the words went along the rhythm of the song and the melody. After the lyrical section of the song, the electric guitar had a solo which had a riff at a medium tempo; the solo seemed to have only been a written solo, since the musician appeared to be reading it from the music sheet. After the guitarist solo, there was a horn solo which involved tonality of high pitch notes. The whole band then played a consonant harmony that had the same syncopation as the introduction. Then the vocalist sang, while the guy in the keyboards played a chord.…

There was a certain call and response between the instruments if I may say so, where both instrument repeat the same sound back and forth. Throughout this song you mostly hear cymbals in the background and a little bit of solo by each the guitarist and the keyboardist. Then the song “Feel Like Making Love” was third. It was executed in a groove style and you could also hear the electronically recorded sound of cymbals and drums throughout the song. “Embraceable you” was fourth; it was dedication to one of his lady friend who came to hear him.…

Tyler is the lead singer and instrumentalist (mostly ukulele and keyboard), and Josh is the percussionist. To begin my description of this song, I would like to talk about how it sounds. The song is upbeat, has a fast tempo, and is played mostly on electric keyboard, using high, happy-sounding notes. This is a huge contradiction to the lyrics, and even…

Throughout the video, the intensity of the music depends on the severity of the situation. It begins with a lighter tone as the main character runs through the neighborhood but quickly picks up and deepens as he wraps his hands at the gym. This change in sound continues throughout the duration of his training and boxing match. It reverts back to a similar tone when he walks home with his younger sibling and completely vanishes when the impoverished boy appears. Throughout this encounter, only footsteps and dialogue is heard.…

The drums had a steady beat throughout the song and the electric guitar had a wide range. As the instruments played together, all of a sudden, the vocals came in and you could feel the decrease in tempo happening as he sang. This is what I interpreted to be ritardando, where there is a gradual decrease in tempo. This occurred as Big Nick sang and when he finished with his short vocal piece, everything picked up again and was more up tempo. Towards the end of the song, there was a harmonica solo and the drummer started to bang on his drums really fast, signaling the end of the…

The trumpet plays a different melody each time. 1.05: The quartet sings “give him the word that I’m not a rover”. Up until this point, their voices have been indistinguishable due to their close harmony and similar dynamics. During this line, however, one of the voices (the one with the lowest harmony) stands out more as sings in mezzo-forte while the others sing in pianissimo. 1.21: The quartet sing the faux chorus once again, and on the word “beam”, a new vocable is introduced as they sing “Ooahh” which consists of two notes sung in harmony and the singers slide between the two using…

The song is put together in a basic song form which is the Introduction, Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, Chorus, Bridge, Chorus, and the Outro (YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL). This song has two versions: the Pop and DH Orchestral version but the orchestral version allows the song to appeal differently to the audience than the pop version. The variety of instruments consists of pianos, and light drumming to create a simple effect. Then, the synthesized orchestra of strings creates a beautiful, melodic sound and articulates the simple chord structure of the percussion to go along with Del Rey’s soft, sweet, and powerful voice. The rhythm of the song varies throughout.…
