The Faceless Enemy The problem with life as we know it, is the fact that we are human. It holds us back because of the time limit that has been placed among everyone on earth. The reality of death makes us try to live each day like it could be our last. Music has helped bring this understanding upon me in a very inspiring way. Lifetime principles and important realizations are often transferred through music such as the simple concepts of living and dying, including the deep analyzation of humbleness that takes real wisdom to apprehend. After coming to the conclusion that dying will remain inevitable, living an enjoyable and meaningful life makes one lifetime much more valuable. The

The point of the song is that we most certainly won’t live forever, and that we should live life to the fullest. The artist’s talks to a man who is terminally ill. Having a shortened life leads him to appreciate all the small things and to have as much fun as possible. This includes doing things that are apart of some type of bucket list. Personally, I have a bucket list of my own. This song makes me want to check off every part to that list. I want to live every day of my life like it’s my last. When asked about how he’s dealing with the terrible news, the terminally ill man says, “I went sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing… I loved deeper, spoke sweeter…” to show how he really started living his life the way he wanted to live. This hits me deep in the heart because I’ve always had a future imagined for me that seems to never meet reality. I feel inspired to do more, say more, love more, and most of all, feel more. This specific song encouraged me to build personal relationships stronger than ever …show more content…
The lyrics say, “You have to lose to know how to win”. This reiterates the principle that you have to continue to fail to learn how to succeed. In knowing this, I reflect on the past to determine decisions in the present without focusing too much on the past. Obviously, the past is always a factor in our current lives, but living strongly in the past makes the present less enjoyable. As I’m learning, living, and dreaming, I’m also growing older and getting wiser. This song has helped me realize that sometimes I need to block out everything and see my present reality for what it

If someone lost a loved one that always liked to ride bicycles, the person that lost that loved one may ride their bicycle weekly because they are living in the past and it is a way to rememberer what it is like being with that loved one. The trombones open up with vigor and power, the piano and bass discreetly accompanies them while the beat of the drums, conga and Guiro in the background makes everything flow to give rhythm and soul to this piece of Latin music I know as Salsa. As the intro makes its conclusion the trombones and drums act simultaneously as a heartbeat skipping a beat, giving the effect of a slight pause right before Hector Laveo “El Cantante” sings his first words. Hector with his high, pure and distinguished voice says “Todo Tiene Su final” which translates to “Everything has its End”. I pause the song, “everything has its end” stays in my mind as the beat of percussion echoes in my head. In what context does he say this?…

“As I Lay Dying” is a fictional story told by a multitude of characters about a woman named Addie, a shy, somewhat stubborn, frail mother whom the story revolves around, being brought to her final resting place by her compassionate family, the Bundrens; fulfilling her last wish. The story occurred in the state of Mississippi on a small countryside. Anse, Addie’s spiritual yet clumsy husband, guaranteed her desire would be fulfilled; whether she is dead or alive. Addie’s family wasn’t entirely prepared to transport her; three dollars were still needed, and until someone earned that money, relationships with one another were getting worse. Sadly, Addie died before her expedition began.…

Readers of Joseph Faulkner's As I Lay Dying have interpreted the message of this novel and the reasoning why Faulkner chose to write a novel like this. Some audience members argue that it is an uplifting and hopeful book while others choose to argue that this book is a way of “presenting human existence as a complete joke.” While there might be some events that happen in the novel that could convince readers that this novel is about having hope in humanity, there are more indicators that Faulkner used this novel to portray a bitter tone about human existence. Faulkner used the characters and events that happened in As I Lay Dying to express his beliefs on human existence. One example of a character that Faulkner uses to convey his idea that human…

The two pieces of writing “Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening” and “"Live like you were Dying"” both have a theme about life, even though “Stopping by the Woods” uses metaphors and symbolism to show it. “Stopping by the Woods” talks about a man traveling with his horse and stopping by the woods when he know he needs to keep going, but it really means to talk about how you should not stop in life but you should keep going to reach your goals. “"Live like you were Dying"” Talks about how you need to make the most out of life, because you never know when it is going to end. “Stopping in the Woods” uses metaphors, symbolism, sensory language, rhyme, and repetition to portray the message. In “Stopping in the Woods” the entire poem is metaphorical…

The entire song shows how no one was original and everyone was working towards the same goal: Success. Everyone had materialistic values and forgot about everything else. Tears for Fears was a band during the 80s that created some great songs showing their feelings and quite pessimistic but almost satirical views of the world. In their song ‘Mad World’ (which is referenced in my creative response as well), shows the pessimism “The dreams in which i’m dying are the best i’ve ever had” and the satire “bright and early for their daily races, going nowhere”. The first quote is quite deep and emotional, but I feel that Tears for Fears added the lyric in their intentionally considering the suicide rate very quickly rose during the 1980s, in people aged 15-19.…

This song makes me confused on why things happen in life the way they do. It makes me sad because when you think about someone suffering while another person has everything, I tell myself that it is no fair. This sadness for others turns into anger because people don’t deserve these bad outcomes if they worked hard or not. No one deserves what life sometimes has to offer. After all these feelings of confusion and just negativity, it all turns into happiness for me.…
