To keep up with a growing US economy, young adults are encouraged to seek a degree through a college institution. A college degree provides financial benefits by qualifying graduates for better job placements. Although there are many benefits of a college education, success rates amongst college students are the lowest in the United States compared to other industrialized nations. According to a survey from tuition.co, 56 percent of students graduate college within a six year period. Many reasons my incorporate to this, but the number one points to high prices in tuition cost.

Some students are the first in their families to attend college and attempt to confront the financial setbacks by working fulltime, so one day they can become responsible and independent members of the community. Nowadays, it is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree if one desires to apply for a job. Looking for a job has become a rather competitive task, due to the increasing percentage of college graduates struggling to find a job in this economy. Due to this competitive market, it has become almost required that college graduates pursue a master’s degree if they wish to stand out from the crowd of bachelors. Master’s degrees are preferred especially in the technology industry. (cbsnews.com.) The more credentials obtained by an individual, the more job opportunities will become available. According to an article written by Jessica Stillman for CBSnew.com she states “...the master's is turning into the new bachelor's,” Refering to bachelors degrees are marketed to the point where they are overrated in some job industries. This idea implements false promises for individuals with big dreams, causing them to blindly pursue before facing the reality that a college degree comes with financial issues for those who cannot afford the upfront
