The difficulties Melba witnessed and experienced during the 1957 integration efforts of the “Little Rock Nine” was the small but very powerful act of nine black children entering an all white school took such bravery because it threatened the children their lives.In the book ,Melba shows that white segregationists was an illusion the whites lied in the consent of the blacks shown in the story.
