The nine students then went into the school and were treated unequal from all the other students and had to use different water fountains, bathrooms, etc. They were pushed and shoved around as they had a guard to help but he wasn’t allowed to fight back. What made these nine students stay positive through all of this is unknown. They knew that they were worth more and that they were people just like we are. Melba beals had eventually graduated with a bachelor in journalism and earned her P.h.D. She wrote two books and was a reporter at San Francisco NBC affiliate. Carlotta Lanier graduated and served as the president of LRN (Land Reform Museum) foundation. Elizabeth Eckford was a probation officer graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in history and currently lives in Little Rock. That means that she will gladly relive what she went through to be an inspiration to everyone else and no matter what chaos happened in Little Rock she still lives
