Like James Rachels once claims that, “the moral code of a society determines what is right within that society; that is, if the moral code of a society says that a certain action is right, then that action is right, at least within that society.” This argument implies that morality of one society does not need to be the same as other societies, and moral code may be different since different societies have different traditions and cultures, which indicates that one action that is right in one society may only right in this particular society, and perhaps it is wrong in another. One example is that: western countries such as the United States usually encourages teenagers whose age is above eighteen live independently, which means they need to find part-time job and use the wage to cover daily expenses even tuition fee. Meanwhile, when people becomes old and after retiring, they also intend to have an independent lives, such as living in the nursing homes instead of living with their children and let their children to look after them. However on the contrary, in eastern countries such as China, parents usually financially support their children till they graduate and find formal jobs, and even most of parents will spend money for children’s cars and wedding houses. On the other hand, when parents get old, it is children’s responsibility to support and take good care of their
