The ability to read and write is a gift. Back than many people cannot read or write, but most people today can read and write. Unfortunately, they are wasting this gift. Perhaps I am misusing this gift also. Reading can give you an idea even you were not at that time, can change a person’s habits, also can capture the reminiscence scene during reading the book and lastly able to learn new information. Because the power to read and write is a present, people can learn new information and imagination through reading.
The first time I read a book was a Korean book called “The Story of the Little Mole Who knew it was none of his Business” by Werner Holzwarth. I was 4 years old when I read this book. This book is about a mole comes up to ground

It is difficult to fix habits. However, if you receive inspiration deeply by reading a book, it will remain in your head forever, helping you to keep thinking about the habit. It is like I did not read any book in my life. When I was young, I did like to read science nonfiction or novels. However, as I get older I did not touch a book unless I was forced to read by school or my parents. In high school, that was my heyday of reading career because I read majority of books in my whole life during high school, however, as I am looking back right now I cannot think of any summary of books. Gerald Graff who wrote a book called “Disliking Books at an Early Age” talks about a little Jew boy who does not like to read only he read necessary effective to his grades which result when he got to college, he could not still correlate to the context. Like so, I was forced to read in high school even without considering student’s personal interesting reading type. Clearly, it was a passive reading which results reading a single book took protracted amount of time to read also did not stay on my head. The cycle of obligatory reading lead me to even harder to read books. However, by reading “Disliking Books at an Early Age” there is one thing people can learn from this book which is a person can change by an event or …show more content…
When Aaron was eight years old, he read “The Rabbit and the Turtle”. Though “The Rabbit and the Turtle” is for children, we could extract hopeful lessons, if we look at this book closely. “The Rabbit and the Turtle” not only he learned that people should not be lazy when people try to reach for their goals but also do not be conceit yourself even though you think you are going faster than others. He likes to recall a memory from “The Rabbit and the Turtle” because he has pictures from the moment of scenery. He enjoys to read sports magazines and comic books when he was younger describing or characterizing himself as a lazy reader. The other his favorite book is “Harry Potter”. He enjoys reading “Happy Potter” even though it is enormous book because he entertained imagining when Harry Potter uses magic skills to fight with ghosts and comparing with his imagination and the movie. There is one thing I need to learn from Aaron is patient because when I look at huge books, I begin to think why would I even bother to start reading if I am not going to finish the book. When we are living our life, there is many times require patience. Aaron is already developing his self-control by challenge reading huge books which I really admiring about

In my essay, I will discuss the changes I have made over the past few years and also what it would be like to not be able to read, and the effect it would have on us. Starting from fourth grade leading on to eleventh grade now. When I first started off as a reader, I struggled very much, I was not a very fluent reader, I could not read out loud, and I stuttered very much. My parents and my teacher recommended a class, that would help with the problems I had with reading. Starting in the fourth grade, I would go to a class for an hour that would help with my speech and of course the problems I had with reading.…

Imagine a world of hatred, racism, unjust laws, and inequality. In this world there is a glimmer of hope, a luminous example of service and kindness, of a young white boy befriending a trodden down and cast out black man, a story of courage in a time of cowardice (Twain). These are the events that occur in Mark Twain’s monumental novel Huckleberry Finn, which is just one of several books that are banned from schools across the nation based on content. The superfluous exclusion and censorship of certain materials from schools is substandard and is certainly not limited to classic literature, but extends to other subjects such as science and social issues. Reading has been an essential part of life since the beginning of written language, it…

Also, my attention span when reading books can easily get interrupted. The first time I was interested in books was when I first started reading The Harry Potter Series. This was sometime in elementary school. The books were quite advanced for my age; however, my grandmother was my source of help. She became my educator throughout elementary whenever I needed help with literature work outside of school.…

I absolutely love to write. Therefore, I habitually also love to read— it’s my favorite way to understand other people and to help them understand me. When stories get written down, anyone can comprehend them, especially with a miracle like braille. Writing lets both adults and children alike communicate complex ideas and feelings that humans just can’t otherwise show— hence, why I adore words so much. My favorite example of communicating that “complex emotion” part is a book called Freaks Like Us, by Susan Vaught.…

The desire to experience satisfaction is one that is felt by almost everyone. We seek to find enjoyment in our lives through partaking in various activities that interest or fascinate us, as doing what we love allows us to have more excitement and refreshment in our lives. Life would become quite boring and monotonous if we did not have anything that brought us satisfaction. The way one experiences satisfaction in their life, however, might not always be the same; people may have a change in the things that interest them. As is seen by the speaker’s experiences with the river in the short story, “Two Ways of Seeing a River”, and my experiences with reading in my own life, this change could spawn because of a number of reasons.…

We - as civilization - are shaped by our interactions with people. Some people have an engaged personality; generally bold or active. Other people tend to have a shy or introverted personality, preferring to be engaged in a small group of friends and stray from large groups. I am both partially introverted and extroverted, but prefer the latter. Reading is such a major part of my life; from the time I could comprehend the written word, I had always turned towards book.…

Unlike most kids out there my age I love to read. While most kids would rather watch a movie or a television show, just lock me in a room with a good book and I’ll be just fine. When I think of myself as a reader, as silly as it sounds I feel I relate to this cute hedgehog in many ways such as the way I approach reading, my process of reading and my participation in reading communities. When approaching something I am going to read I am extremely cautious about what I choose to pick up, like a hedgehog is careful to watch for predators when scurrying about in the forest. With the millions of books out there it can be overbearing when I can only choose one at a time to read.…

I used to hate reading, it didn’t matter what book it was. Fiction, Non-fiction, Biography, Autobiography, none of it interested me at all. I also don’t have a good attention span, so if I didn’t like a book in the beginning my ears would shut off. I would stop listening to it, or I would stop remembering what I had just read. Until my freshman year, I wanted to do good in high school because high school is when grades start to matter.…

Third grade reading time was the event that propelled me into reading. Most of my classmates would typically find a book that interested them with ease and quickly find a place to begin reading; whereas I would have an oddly hard time finding a book of interest. So much so that I developed the habit of just grabbing a random book, to give me a guise as a reader. As a kid I just could not get into reading for such a small amount of time, and on top of that the books kept in the teacher library were uninteresting. Now most of the time I would choose traditionally structured chapter books.…
