The first pitch I got was roped over the fence. I knew the ball was never coming back. That homerun was the first I had ever hit in a game. It’s ridiculous to think that my first homerun was during my first at bat of a season. Everything went right, so I knew that this would be the season I would never forget. The season was a dream, nothing in life had been that much of a breeze. We chopped down team by team. Not one thing could distract us boys. We didn’t lose all season, nor did we in the playoffs. I was having so much fun, laying out, making plays, my teammates and I loving every second of it. It was the most incredible feeling in the world to run and lay out your full body in the moist grass. It was an even better feeling when you came up with the catch. The most memorable part of the season was playing outfield. I remember the ball flying over my head, I was too arrogant to play back any further. I only had one thought at that moment, and that was to catch the ball. My first step being back, I quickly realized the ball was much closer than I thought. However, it was still out of reach. The only chance I had was to dive, and so I did. Without any emotion I extended my arm out while diving low to the ground. I hit the ground, not knowing if I had caught the ball or not. I peek down to my glove where a white orb laid in my mitt.
