Surprisingly litter can affect your mood, you can become disgusted, stressed out, or even angry and being in a crummy mood for the majority of your day undeniably isn’t good for your health. Ultimately litter affects our health and safety. In addition to litter is very costly. Littering costs the United States $11.5 billion every single year! Also your homes cost can be affected by the amount of litter in your neighborhood or near your house. Actually 40% of homeowners said to them the litter would decrease the home's value as much as 10% to 24%. The tourism industry in Floyd would be affected by litter as well. We all know that if the tourism is affected, so will Floyd’s economy. When the economy goes down the taxes and prices will rise. Just know that if littering continues the cost will continue to escalate and in more ways than one In conclusion littering is a problem that needs to be stopped and not just in Floyd, but in the whole world. If we were able to at least prevent the amount of littering. We wouldn’t harm the environment as much. Our health and safety wouldn’t be at risk. Last, but not least our economy wouldn’t go down and the taxpayers of Floyd County won’t have to pay as much money. Hope you take this into consideration Mayor

The majority of trash we removed accumulated from people throwing it in the creek and by water washing trash into the creek. To prevent this I am recommending spending $60,000 to employ a French Creek Environmental Educator to travel the watershed, especially near French Creek, to educate individuals about the economic and environmental effects of polluting the French Creek Watershed. It is cheaper and more cost effective to prevent than clean up of pollutants as clean up costs include disposal, risk, and the environmental damage that could not be prevented (Garbisu & Itziar Alkorta, 2001). This concept makes it more effective to look so spend the money coming in from sponsors on prevention rather than…

“Recycling all of your home’s waste newsprint, cardboard, glass, and metal can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 850 pounds a year” (CU Facts). letting these materials become recycled instead of being thrown in landfills let the rest of the trash decay at the very slow rate it already goes without having to go around the not needed materials. Having these bins could help the already sorta polluted is being clouded by the sand processing machines across the river from pecan plantation. Eliminating as much environmental impact as possible needs to become Pecan and Granburys worry since we 've already put in multiple mining plants, a dam, and even a nuclear power plant. although it may be a little expensive to buy more recycling bins but in the long run the community would save money and the environment keeping less trash out for the garbage man to pick up and more plastics, bottles, and cans filling the bins can help save cost on how many garbage trucks need to come through and the air would become a little more pure.…

Gatesburg residents, businesses, and city officials recently proposed a recycling initiative that'll have a positive impact on the city and environment. The GatesburgGoGreen Initiative will reduce the amount of waste added to the county landfill by 90% over five years, while improving city budget by eliminating the need for a new landfill. This system will be well regulated, monitored, and done in a manner to ensure the city of Gatesburg is doing its part to benefit the planet. In 10 years, the county landfill will be closed if Gatesburg doesn't take action. Gatesburg has already banned the dumping of recyclable construction waste and started a composting program for yard clippings and leaves, but the GateseburgGoGreen Initiative will provide another effective manner of reducing waste for the county.…

After exploring portions of the garbage and other such refuse that can be found in modern Louisville, many people can conclude that Louisville is somewhat of a wasteful city. There are several places in Louisville that are greater in overall waste than others, and some places in Louisville are downright deplorable. The saying, "you are what you throw away" can to some extent be applied to Louisville because some degree of the cleanliness of the city as a whole can be determined by examining trash in small measures. The city of Louisville takes great pride in many of its parks and in the many opportunities with which it presents its citizens.…

With people, comes trash, and this inevitability is what is causing New-Yorkers so much headache. Previously, trashcans were placed underground in the subway terminals. Though this seemed like it was the best option for the placement of the trashcans, they would often be overflowing and rat-infested by days’ end. Consequently, to solve this problem, city officials decided to remove thirty of the trashcans, and place the remaining ones at the entrances to the underground terminals (Fitzsimmons). By taking away trashcans, city officials just made it harder for a large amount of trash to be disposed of.…

Littering is a very important law for many good reasons. One example of why littering is a terrible thing is because it doesn’t look good for your community. People who go and look for houses in your community might not want to move into your community because they do not want to be looked at by other people as living in a gross community. If visitors of the community visit that place once, they probably might not want to go back. Trash pick up also cost a lot of money too.…

For this stage I would gather new data on the frequency of dumping and compare it to the previous data. The result would tell me numerically if the actions that I took had a positive effect on the community.…

There was a survey in 2005 that said 98 percent of Seattle households participate in the curbside recycling program, and that only 16 minutes are spent recycling in each household. What are those 16 minutes spent doing? Sorting, extracting, rinsing, bundling, and stomping. These are easy things that everyone can do, if you get more people in your house to help it could go by even faster. People are used to not recycling because they have never been forced to, but if everyone put recycling into their daily routine it would be a habit and not a…
