The Litmus logs are not presented in its entirety, but are chosen selections from Grady’s file. The selections are divided between the period Grady worked on the ‘Lenore Project’ and ‘Project Neostyrene.’ The first thing that is apparent when reading the Lenore logs is that Grady is excessively occupied with various tasks and projects throughout his days. All four of the Lenore logs showed work productivity, although the two earliest logs are focused on innovation while the latter are bureaucratic and administrative productiveness. For instance, on December 17, 2001, Grady slightly increased polystyrene flexibility and on January 24, 2002, he figured out how they may be able to “add another layer of support with negligible weight.” Most importantly, in both innovatively productive logs, Grady was mostly left alone and uninterrupted at work. Grady was able to brainstorm and dedicate time to conducting trials and coming up with creative ideas. On March 25, 2002 and April 9, 2002, Grady submitted a quarterly report, spoke to vendors, discussed patents, and responded to e-mail and telephone messages. These two logs showed that Grady was too exhausted from menial tasks and could not concentrate on the project.
