Importance Of Literature Contests In Literature

When I was the second grade at the high school, I started to write a poem. Honestly, it was not enough level to show other people, at that time, I thought it was a very good poem, so decided to apply the one of the biggest writing contest for high school student in Korea. It was summer vacation, and the contest was held in a Buddhist temple located in Kangwon-do. Because I bad not prepared for the contest, understandably, I could not win at the competition. After that, I started to investigate and gather the information about literature contests and a special admission into universities for literature abilities. To my astonishment, there were a lot of literature contests for high school students, ant it was possible to get a special admission from good university by the winning records from the contest. I thought I had a talent as a novelist because I won at the nationwide scaled literature competition of a university which was placed in Busan city by my first play. I enjoyed writing my novel on squared manuscript paper, and I have kept the papers in my room. It is my treasure. Finally, I had gotten two or three award at the several literature contests, but finally decided to give up getting a special admission from the good universities. It was because I and my literature teacher made a judgment that it would be not possible to get the admission; I decided to focus on the College Scholastic Ability Test, fortunately, I could get enough score from the test to get an admission form
