Edgar Allan Poe is an amazing literary influence on todays writers. Poe was famous writer and poet of his day. Even though he started out small he came a very long way.
Poe had a very complicated past and started out with many bumps and rough patches but made it quite far.Edgar Allen Poe was born on January 19th,1809 in Boston, Massachusetts (“Edgar Allen Poe Biography” 1). Poe’s Parents were actors and that lead to him not seeing them often (“Poets.org” 3). When his parents died he was young and had to move in with the Allans’. Edgar’s Early life was affected by his new foster parents habit of moving. “The Allans moved several times during Poe’s teenage life” (Silverman “American National Biography Outline”5). Allan continued his education at local private academics , he showed a gift for languages and writing (Silverman “American National Biography Outline”5). Edgar’s guardian John Allan died on the 27th of March in 1834,leaving no inheritance for Poe (Silverman “American National Biography Outline”5). Poe got a job at Burtons and later quit June of 1840 (“Edgar Allan Poe.” Britannica 4). “Poe’s work owes much to the concern of romanticism with the occult and the satanic”(“Edgar Allan Poe.” Britannica 4). Poe’s first book “Tamerlane and other poems” was published in 1827 (“Edgar Allen Poe Biography” 1).
