For example, the names of the gods seem to be magic when they’re said off color, or even when their names are said to get help. When Percy first came to camp half blood, he didn't believe that the greek god were real, and he would say their names in a negative way. “Look, is there anything we can say without it thundering?” (Riordan 129). The next thing, the weapons that the gods use, they symbolize the power they possess. For example, Zeus’s lightning bolt is the symbol of his power and the pattern for all other bolts. Every god has a weapon that represents their unique gifts and abilities. Ares has a shield, Poseidon has a trident, and Hades has the helm of darkness. These objects are a means by which the god rules. Another biggie would have to be the dreams Percy and the other half-bloods have. In this book, Percy has many dreams from the gods, Kronos, and sometimes from his friends. One particular dream is a horse and an eagle fighting to the death on the beach.
