The Locale in Tell Tale Heart is in the old man's bedroom. Due to the story the bedroom is supposed to make us safe. When you feel something is watching you. When someone watches you you feel scared and unsafe. Another locale is in the house, and at the house you feel safe at day. When night comes you feel scared and suspicious the something may be watching you. This is a very important Literary Device in Tell Tale Heart.
A literary device that was often used is Man Made Geography. When the man was walking through the house he didn't make any noise. When he grabbed a chair to sit down it didn't make any noise. When he sat in the the chair the floor didn't make any noise. Another Man Made Geography is the door. The door in our bedrooms make a noise when they open. The story's lighting is pitch black. That makes me feel scared and the writer knows how to get to our fear. In your bedroom you have light and that makes us comfortable. When you can't see anything it makes us feel scared. In pitch black you can't see anything. The old man in the bedroom couldn't see anything. When the killer notices he cant see anything it makes it easier for him to kill the old man. Mood And Atmosphere does affect the reader's
