Plot Summary-
Soon-to-be 11 year-old Winnie Foster is tired of being told what to do by her parents, and not getting to make her own decisions. When she thinks about running away, she has nowhere to go in the small town of Treegap. Since Winnie’s parents own the Treegap wood next to their house, she one day decides to explore it a little bit, after a man in a yellow suit stopped to talk to her when she was playing outside. When the man questions Winnie about a family, she tells him to talk to her father. But when her Granny rushes out of the house to see what she is doing, she hears the music. Winnie, shocked, finally believes the Tucks and settles in for a good night’s rest. When she wakes up, she goes to catch fish for breakfast while Tuck talks to her about the family secret. Not having any luck with the fish, they come off the lake to find their horse who has also drank the special water, is missing. Upset, the Tucks realize there is nothing that they can do, so they go on with their day. What they do not realize is that the mysterious man in the yellow suit is riding their horse down to the Foster residence. When he arrives, he tells them that he knows where Winnie is, and as a reward for bringing her back home, he wants the woods they own. They accept, and he rides back to the Tuck house and tells them the news. Shocked, the Tucks realize the bad thing: He knows their secret, and he will spread it fast. He plans on selling the water, and becoming rich. Uncooperatively, the Tucks refuse to show him where the water is, and he becomes more greedy for it. Mae, not knowing what to do, takes a gun and hits him in the head with it. The man falls down, and the constable comes inside to see what happened. The constable puts Mae under
