Love is like a puppy because there is a feeling of want. Cuddling with a puppy on a cold lonely night can be one of the best feelings in the world. Imagine this. Shaking from the cold of the dark winter night, I arrived home finally after a long day of work. Quickly shutting off the engine, I gather my things and hurry into my house. Shivering I start to undo my layers of clothing. Feeling a tugging on my pant leg, I looked down. I see my puppy bouncing up and down begging for my attention and affection. I find myself comparing his movements to one of a rollercoaster as he jumps up and down and runs all around. Swiftly darting across the floor and looking back at me with excitement as his tongue hangs out and his ears are flopping about. Growing irritated with my lack of attention to him, he starts to run in circles begging for my attention and affection. Wanting me to hold him and pet him. Grabbing a warm blanket I wrap myself up concealing my body heat as sit on the couch. Suddenly I feel the couch dip next to me and I feel warmth at my side. Looking down I see my puppy with that same look of excitement, but this time it is mixed with a look of contentment. Slowly a smile forms on my face as I pull him closer and enjoy his warmth and company. Love is like a puppy because of the feeling of attention and affection that you receive from …show more content…

In turn, the difference in love is basically a battle between the sexes for who has the better type of love. As John Donne writes in Sonnet 18, "let mine amorous soul court thy mild dove" (Donne line 12).…
