Lisa Fraizer Paige's The Pact

The main characters of the book “The Pact” by Lisa Fraizer Paige describes three- first generation students that are chasing their dreams and want to pursue a higher education. Each of them share hopes and dreams and have the desire to pursue a degree in the medical field to give back to their community and help those in need . Despite the challenges they faced they managed to work hard and follow the correct path in order to achieve their goals. The three students met each other and together as a team helped one another in order to achieve their dreams. They worked with one another and together they would study for tests and help each other with homework. When one of the students got an A+ on a test the other student would also motivate himself and also work hard to obtain the same grade. The three of them pursued their dreams thanks to their motivation and the college support programs that they received. Just as them I am also the first generation student to be able to go to college and pursue an education. Also I come from a family that cannot support me financially but supports me and motivates me to keep going and always strive for higher goals. I think the Pact is similar to cal state monterey bay because just as in the story cal state monterey bay also provides many helpful college assistance programs to those students that are low income or first generation students that have the dream of pursuing a higher education. To conclude I think that at cal state monterey bay I will have some challenges that I will have to overcome by myself. The transition from college to a university and meeting new people are challenges that are going to affect me but by the help of the CAMP and EOP program these programs will help me overcome fears and assist me into taking the correct path for
