Lions Club International’s “We Serve” motto resonates significantly with me. Lions Club International plays a pivotal role in supporting individuals and communities locally and globally. The work being performed is instrumental in providing essential aid and resources to communities in need. Globally, the Lions Club is renowned for its humanitarian efforts, such as providing health services, leadership training, and general support for those in need within developing countries. On a local level, I have seen Lions Club chapters work tirelessly to address pressing issues within their communities, ranging from food insecurity to community support and the support of education. I have been a member of the Spanish Club for my entire high school career. My mom is a Spanish Teacher at Barbers Hill High School. She helps run the high school's Spanish Club, and we "adopt" a family yearly at Christmas. I have been helping my mom with her efforts for many years, even before my time at Barbers Hill High School. We help families in our community (Mont Belvieu and Baytown) who do not have the financial means to give their children gifts and presents. Specifically, I remember helping make these deliveries with giant bags of presents for the local kids. To see the looks on the kids' faces, and the parents, too, for an act that didn't require much from me. During my time at Barbers Hill High School, I also joined the PALs (Peer Assistance and Leadership) organization. Being a member of PAL has helped me continue to understand the depth of connections made through volunteering and service. One of my most notable experiences was volunteering for the TOPSoccer program. TOPSoccer is US Youth Soccer’s outreach program for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, or physical
