The griffin is a legendary creature that's found mainly in the art and lore of Ancient Greece, but there is evidence of griffins in Ancient Persia. The griffin has the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle, it was considered the protector of treasure and priceless possessions. Since the lion is considered the king of animals and the eagle king of the birds this creature was thought to be an especially powerful creature. They also considered it the king of all creatures. The lion and eagle both have great symbolism behind them and both are similar by their representations for loyalty, spiritual power, and royalty.
Different cultures and religions have interpreted lions and eagles in their own ways. Similarly most myths and beliefs give both creatures great spiritual powers . Native Americans interpret the eagle as representing the Great Spirit, which is the creator of all. While the Romans saw it as a symbol of an empire. Likewise Chinese buddhists interpret the lion as a creature with great majesty, therefore they believe that lions protect humans from ghosts and demons. As well as multiple Native

For lions loyalty to their pride is key to survival since they hunt and travel together. Most prides are made up of two-three male lions and about five lionesses, and the prides care for each other with the utmost loyalty. And will they work together to protect their youngins and territory. Likewise eagles are loyal to their mates for a lifetime. They are apart of a small group of animals that are monogamous and have one mate for life. Not only that, but eagles are known to be extremely loyal to their offsprings as well. Both parents protect the nest fiercely before and after the eggs hatch. And even though the young eagles can start flying in about four months the parents continue to feed them until they're sure they can hunt properly.
