Lion Cum Scout Research Paper

Ever since I was little, I’ve always wanted to help people. Being a Boy Scout gave me the opportunity to do so. When I was eight years old I joined the cub scouts which began my life long campaign of helping people. I started off learning to take the oath to serve the people weather it be by the organization or myself. I assisted by selling popcorn for charity organizations ( The San Antonio Food Bank and The Knights of Columbus) or for money that we needed for our camp out trips. I prepared for every task that was thrown at me such as helping pick up garbage at our church, throwing plastic bottles in recycling bins, and helping the elderly. Going through being a Cub Scout, we also got to help the church by repainted their signs for Sunday’s Mass.
As I progressed through the ranks, I achieved the Webelos rank. As a Webelo, I got to help out with doing spaghetti dinner’s for a Christian religion group, fish fry for donating money to the Knights of Columbus, Church Rummage Sale, and help set out Easter Eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt for the little ones after mass had ended. Webelos is an acronym meaning "We'll Be Loyal Scouts". According to the Bear Cub Scout Book of 1954, the name originally came from the initial letters of "wolf, bear, lion, Scout", the rank of "Lion Cub Scout" was dropped in 1967. I would got to orphanages and help bring dirt, cement, and bricks to build a BBQ area for the orphans to have for cook out in their backyard. When I started my Eagle Scout Project, I went to a Christian school that a friend of mine who was an Eagle Scout that went there and his father gave me permission to do my project on the school grounds. I was in charge of building a ramp for the school’s snack bar and sports equipment trailer. It was difficult but I got the job done for the
