1. I am currently a Nutritional Sciences major that was seeking a career in pharmaceuticals for the past couple of semesters. My interest in this major slowly disappeared, I found myself to not really enjoy the type of classes involved and I realized that it just didn’t suit my preferences. I decided to look for a major that suited me better and involved classes that I fully understand and enjoy. I am now studying finance and business ownership. This field personally interests me because my family has had a long history of business ownership and marketing, and I found myself to understand the concepts of finance, marketing, and business better than anything else.

I watched a series of instructional videos regarding the professional networking website, LinkedIn. This website helps you gain connections with other professionals, companies, organizations, and other marketing groups. LinkedIn is essential for those who want to broaden their horizons with networking and meet others that share the same interests in their intended field. LinkedIn is essential for promoting yourself and your accomplishments. When searching for a professional, their LinkedIn profile is what usually shows up first. LinkedIn will also help in the search for job opportunities, create leads, and set up the network you need with other professionals to further the road of success. The essentials of LinkedIn follow with creating a profile of yourself and begin to find connections that you personally know. Finding connections that you personally help broaden actual connections because those first-hand connections will create more first-hand connections and will rapidly increase in networking. LinkedIn helps you stay in the job search and will accommodate for the type of field your interested in. LinkedIn also has the option to make a premium account to increase the advantages of networking. There are a few great features of LinkedIn premium. The biggest advantage is the ability to see who has viewed you profile. I tuned my resumes very similar to the cover letters. On the first resume I found myself to include more internships and marketing managing roles. This will appeal better to the eyes of the recruitment. My second resume is a little bit more down to earth and understandable. The second resume fits the job and is concise to get the point across. The first resume includes professional skills that fit the job description and provide confident credentials to wow the recruiter. The second resume deals with more of the general manger job as the main focus. Internships want to see motif and readiness and I feel that the skills listed show exactly that. The first and second resume also differ in length. I wanted a longer resume for the first job so I can be more descriptive and include all my merits. The second one was shorter and concise and included only necessary information. The internship probably is seeking someone that has enough time to involve themselves. Even thought the resumes are quite different, they also needed some inclusions of similarities. I wanted to just differ the focus of the main skill set required and what I can bring so I can be better fitting for the desired job. The first resume I wanted to include essential computer skills that I also would be required of by working at google.
