I'm writing you to ask you if you would be willing to write a recommendation letter for me. I know it's been a while since I took a course with you but your class was one of the ones I have enjoyed the most since being at UW. I managed to explore in depth topics in relation to peoples backgrounds and history including my own. In addition, the class helped me become a better overall writer. I also really like the size of the class as it allowed for more in-depth class discussions.
