In the book, teamwork is, the collaboration of two or more people to manage impressions jointly (Henslin 113). I chose this concept because MS13 is a gang so teamwork is essential for them to be successful. You can’t have 100,000 soldiers without working as a unit. The ways they show teamwork is, how they drug traffic, and control certain parts of a city or state. I have inferred that there is a gang leader for every group of foot soldiers. This means they are working as a team to sell drugs, kill someone, or even recruit people. Everything MS13 or any gang does is as a team because they are affiliated with each other and if you want to be a strong group then the teamwork has to be strong. Another term I want to link to this video is the term called ‘society’. Society is people who share a culture and territory (Henslin 145). I chose this term because of a couple reasons. One reason is that I think the members of MS13 didn’t live in a good stable society. Because of this they are more influenced to a way out of society, and the gang was the way out. When the gang recruits they give out the imagery that the recruited will be respected, protected, loved, and have an opportunity to live a better …show more content…
The definition of clique is a cluster of people within a large group who chose to interact with one and other. MS13 is the biggest, most dangerous, and strongest organized crime clique in the world and is still growing today. The MS13 clique recruits young because children do not have a fully developed brain like males so they are more likely to be convinced by a recruiter. Once you are part of the clique you have a few responsibilities. The main ones are to kill and bring in money for the gang. Most of the money the gang makes is drug money so, bringing in money is definitely the most important responsibility because the gang thrives off of that. The killing is the second most important responsibility because rival cliques try to own territory that MS13 wants, or already owns so it needs defended. The gang life also consists of three consequences. The first consequence is being hospitalized, the second is jailed, and the third is dead. Dying is the only way out of the gang because once you leave it, they will eventually kill you. Another term I linked to this video is ‘group dynamics’. The definition of group dynamics is, the ways in which individuals affects groups, and the ways in which groups influence individuals (Henslin 158). I chose this term because, every group member that joins MS13 is affecting the group in a positive manner. Because of this members that are already apart of the group will influence
