Three Dimensional Space

Improved Essays
In this project I will talk about curves in three space, also known as curves in three dimensional space or 3 - D. Many of us are familiar with two dimensional space or 2- D. It is called two dimension space because it has two axes: the x-axes and the y-axes. Three dimensional space is represented by the symbol it is called three dimensional space because three axes are used to draw, and the three axes are: x, y, and z.

Figure 01: Standard axes of 3 dimensions This is the standard axes of three dimensional or 3- D. Most of the time it only shows the positive value, though the negative value can be added. Three dimensional space use almost the same formula that is used in two dimensions. The formula that we use in two dimensions has

In three space we have planes, if we look on the graph the point R is on the plane yz, the point S is on the plane xz, and the point Q is on the xy plane. In three dimension we can find the equation of each plane by setting one of the coordinate equal to zero. If we want to find the equation of the plane xy we must set z equal to zero, if we want to find the equation of the xz plane we must set y equal to zero, and if we want the equation of the yz plane we must set x equal zero.
After finding the equation of each plane, it will give us the form or trace in each plane. As we have more than two plane in three dimensional space we can graph a curve on one plane and we will have its projection. For Example, if you graph a curve on the zy plane and you look at it from the xy or xz plane it will not have the same view that is on the zy plane. Figure 02: View of a graph in different

For example GPS, and Cellphone apps use 3-D to determine the location of places, and people. The location of peoples or cars in GPS, and apps are determined by the movements done by people or cars. These movement can be curves or lines. For example GPS use the formula between points to find the location of people by using two points or more points. For engineers 3-D, or curves in three space play a big role in many things they use or make. Engineers must understand how three dimensions graph work because engineers use AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design) to draw objects. AutoCAD is an engineer program that use three dimensions space to help engineer draw or make objects. The planes xy, yz, and xz that is used in math class have a different name in AutoCAD. In AutoCAD planes are called: Front, Top, and Right.
In AutoCAD Engineer must choose a plane before he starts drawing. For example if engineer starts his drawing in front plane or xy plane he must use the extrude bottom in the program to see the projection of the drawing in the others planes (top, right, or yz, xz) and make sure that the projection in the others planes have the right shape and size for his

a space containing both an up and down arrow represents a filled orbital. Each box is labeled with the principal quantum number and sub level associated with the orbital. Sub level P has three spaces and is one behind, sub level D has five spaces and is two behind. Each line must have all up arrows before going through and adding down arrow. For example carbon's orbital diagram is (C) 1s2 contains both up and down arrows, along with 2s2.…

This week assignment was a little confusing because I have never done a diagram with a computer software. Even though creating a diagram on a computer looks easy to do, it is different when you must make sense of it and guide people to understand it. Before I decided to choose a program, I went ahead and drew a draft of the network diagram with pen and paper. I sketched the diagram so I can have an idea of where to start and what I wanted to reflect on my final draft.…

Brief Description of the Activity: The activity will begin with students drawing a self portrait on a cue card. They must choose a colour that represents them and use the colour more than once in their portrait. After everyone is finished their self portrait, we will make a bar graph as a class to represent the class’ favourite colours. This activity will begin to show students what the axis of the graph are and introduce proper mathematical language (axis, scale, and one to one correspondence, mode).…

In Jose Clemente Orozco's fresco Epic of American Civilization: Anglo-America (panel 15), Orozco uses the visual elements and design in planning out this work. Shape and form are present in the work, but also, value, color, space, time, and lines are used as well. Orozco makes use of these elements to show the ideas that are being formed in this piece. The use of shape is present in this work as buildings and people. The buildings are two-dimensional shapes that form the structures while the people are three-dimensional positive shapes with very little negative shape.…

Determining Subject Matter I worked with the CT to identify the topic that would be appropriate for this assignment. After reviewing the upcoming lessons and considering the timeline, we agreed that I would teach the students about coordinate planes, including the parts of the plane, how to plot points, find the distance between points, and reflect points across axes. The timing of this topic is fitting since the students just completed a unit on number lines, integers, and rational numbers. State, District, and National Standards Met The two AZ College and Career Readiness Standards, found on the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) website, that will be taught during this topic are: 6.NS.C.6.…

The philosophy of grid had become a necessary routine by the 1960s as Müller-Brockmann’s book The Graphic Artist and His Design Problems first published in 1961. In the book, he presented his own way of design and introduced the grid to designers worldwide. The grid became to had a tight connect with the style and approaches of Swiss Style, as Hollis (p178, para.3, 2007) said, ‘the grid came to imply the style and methods of Swiss graphic…

Compasses and straightedges are tools used regularly in geometry. Compasses are used to draw precise circles and arcs, leading to making many geometric figures. Straightedges are used to make straight lines that are exact measurements. There is a need for students to understand and be able to construct geometric figures using a compass and straightedge. This is because students will be able to understand the steps it takes to construct geometric figures, it allows students to understand how to use other geometric tools easier, and it is likely for less mistakes.…
