As people interact with each other, it does not mean that they have forgotten their culture or backgrounds. People have retained their traditional norms and practices and still adopt the modern lifestyles that steps off the traditional norm (Spector, 2009). The Igbo culture is one of the three main cultures in Nigeria West Africa. The Igbo resides at the East of Nigeria and they have the largest population in the east of Nigeria. The Igbos love to travel and there is no country in the world where you will not find an Igbo person. The Igbo culture can be seen in their religion, food and music. The Igbo family includes not only their immediate family but also their extended families. As an Igbo person, the writer learned early in life that it is important to go to church on Sundays and also keep it holy. As someone who grew up in Igbo land, Sundays are known as the day God rested, it is a day to worship God and nobody goes to work or market to sell or buy anything. The whole family will gather after church service, have meals together and talk about different things while the young children run around and play with each other. Many of the native foods contain vegetables like ugu and uha, which is very nutritious. A lot of varieties of meat like goat meat, cow meat, bush meat, stock fish are used in preparing meals. The Igbos eats very healthy and they like to plant their own fruits because they love fresh fruits. The Igbos is taught early in life to rely on God for good health and healing. But when they get sick they believe that someone or a spirit is after them. And so instead of going to seek help from the healthcare they go to the church for divine healing and restoration. For the few that does not go to church, when they get sick, they go seeking the help of the herbalist for herbal medicine. The Moses’ family maintains and protects their health by exercising, eating nutritious diet, going for annual physical and being up-to-date with their immunization.
