In College Boards, “Education Pays 2010,” College Board reviews the many advantages that a college education provides, and even go further to explain how this choice makes a mark on society. College Board explains how “ federal and local governments enjoy increased tax revenue from college graduates” (Baum Web 2). Many college graduates receiving employment right after earning their degree, helps contribute to society via their ability to pay taxes. The government can only do so much with the budget they have, and College graduate’s contributions help make this budget better. With more tax money, the government can improve the nation’s infrastructure, as well as enhance the nation’s defense, along with setting up programs to aid American citizens. One way the government is able to increase funding is by having more taxpayers. With more college graduates, this goal is possible. Comparably, College Board also discusses the effects college graduates will have on their children. College boards states, “college-educated parents engage in more educational activities with their children, who are better prepared for school than other children” (Baum web 2). Being that college graduates are hard workers, who have experienced the education system first hand, they know how to prepare their own children for challenges that schools provide. These children are essentially instilled with a diligent work ethic, one that will be passed onto future generations, and ultimately create a more advanced culture.
