Immigration is a big controversial topic in America today. One of the biggest question America faces today is, what should they do about illegal immigration? Linda Chavez, an outspoken commentator on issues of civil rights and affirmative action, wrote an article about illegal immigration and her whole article was trying to show how illegal immigrants bring good to the country and they should not deport them back to their country. I respectfully disagree with Chavez and do believe that there should be ramifications when coming into this country illegally and that we can not in a sense, reward them, by letting them stay in the country. Also, there has to be a certain boundary on whom America can let into this country and simply can not let anyone, without a background check, just come into this country. …show more content…
And her source for this the Pew Hispanic Center is a nonpartisan research organization that seeks to improve understanding of the U.S. Hispanic population and is consider a reputable source. I believe her argument to be flawed because she is trying to give a reason that we should make them legal but if America does that, then the percentage of two parent household will go down. I will actually cite her own source for this by saying that if we make them legal, the numbers show that legal immigrants are 12 percent lower in two parent households than illegal immigrants. It would make sense to say that illegal immigrants have higher percentage because they are illegal. A way to look at it, they just sneaked into a country, where they do not speak the language, and do not no much about, so it would not make sense for them to leave their
