Introduction
I have being asked to do a case study on a girl called Linda who is a 14 year old adolescent in this assignment I will be talking about eating disorders, bullying and how to control this issue with young adolescences. For my research I will use class notes and the internet to retain my information.
1. Identify who you would need to talk to about this situation
The first person you would talk about this too is your line manager and inform them of what you have observed and what you have being told by one of her peers. The line manager will give you advice on what to do next. You must inform her parents about what is happening and see if they have notice any changes in Linda while she …show more content…
Her thought process won’t be as developed as an adult would be. In adolescence they are more risk takers don’t think of their life they just think of the then and now. According to David Elkind (o’ Brien 2013tenagers have self-consciousness and an Imaginary audience they belief that others will be looking at all their faults. From my personal observation teenagers believe that if they try drugs to get rid of what they are feeling at that moment they, don’t think of the risks of becoming addicted or cause any harm to them.
Emotional
Linda’s emotional needs could be that though this stage of life she is finding it hard to cope with her body image and appears to keep herself distanced from everyone which can be a sign of isolation. She is struggling with her identity and what her role in life .She feels like nobody will accept her or like her so has a very low self-esteem. According to Erikson’s fifth stage identity vs role confusion (o ‘Brien 2013) high self-esteem was found among teens that saw themselves as close to their parents. Is there a problem at home is that why Linda comes into respite. …show more content…
She needs to be comfortable in her own body be informed she will get the help she needs to feel better about herself from a councillor. They will have to meet Linda over a space of a few months or could be longer before and build up a relationship which she will feel comfortable talking about herself and what she is going true. A social worker will be involved in Linda’s life they will be just there to help her with family life if there are any problems which could affect her life. The dietitian will help Linda with her eating disorder and help her build up a good relationship with good nutritional food which can help Linda with keep her weight under control. The line manager will have a meeting with Linda to see how she is and copeing with everything. The carers and I will be keeping an eye on Linda and building up a relationship with her so she can come to us if she feels like she is having a bad day, show her that you care about her and that you are there to help as well as
