Abraham Lincoln was a powerful leader. His speeches, though some were short, definitely made a point and made it clear and concise. Lincoln was a republican leader, but an exemplary one at that. He was also a leader that let things take their course unless he wanted them done his way with no interference. In the movie he went under the nose of one of his cabinet members and decided to take matters into his own hands to arrange a meeting with the South.

He used humor in his talks to enlighten the people in the room. He used laughter not only for his and others enjoyment but, for political reasons as well. I had learned in my effective speaking class that when using comedy while speaking and getting a crowd to laugh it releases dopamine in the brain. He fought very hard for what he wanted. He did not want to give up for anything. Lincoln did not let anything stand between him and his goal to abolish slavery. He took leaps and bounds to things he knew he could accomplish with his skills. In the movie he pushed for people to vote yes for the amendment. He was adamant that he would be passed. His hard work paid off in the end.
Lincoln was a strong and silent leader at the same time. His character portrayed in the movie was accurate of what I had previously known of him. In the film his speeches and talks were short but they sent out a message that was strong. His messages made people think and open their minds. He gave powerful messages in such few words. I did enjoy the type of leader he was portrayed as in the movie. Lincoln was not what I thought he should be portrayed as but was overall what I thought to be accurate.
If Lincoln were president, I do not think the United States would be in the position it is today. Lincoln would push for what he believed was right. He would use his determination and persuasion to convince the others involved in the government. Lincoln would persuade them to vote for bills he wants.
