After an eight hour bus ride, it was finally time to get off of the bus and into the streets. The drive through Lincoln Tunnel was long and tedious and opens to a world of skyscrapers and billboards. The August heat hits you like a truck in an accident. One can remember the first time standing in New York City. The rainbow hues of flashing billboards and cameras shine into eyes as the excited screams of newcomers flood the ears making the city feel like home. The star- studded part of the city that draws everyone nearer, Times Square, is the first item in sight. It is hard to miss if one is just scanning the area.
