Lincoln The Great Emancipator Analysis

He is the face of two of the U.S’s currency and one of the first presidents to provide change for our Nation. Most people believe that Abraham Lincoln is the Great Emancipator of the United States. This is a controversial issue because while some people believe Mr. Lincoln is not the Great Emancipator or even one of the great presidents. In the article, “The Slow End of Slavery,” by Frank Clancy, he states that there were different opinions of the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. While people’s ideas weren’t the same on the matter but in result slaves were freed. Abraham Lincoln didn’t just sway to one side of the problem, frankly he was in the middle, thus implementing a two sided proof for the plan so both sides be satisfied in the outcome. For example in 1863 Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which would free over 3 million, men, children, and women. By signing this act he created a pathway and gave opportunities for people after to provide change as well. Such as the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in December of 1865, which soon followed the Emancipation was set in place. 2 ½ years later the 14th Amendment, that provided equal rights for all male citizens regardless of, “race, color, or previous condition of servitude, followed. Again this is all because Abraham Lincoln created the “father” law that branched out to create new lives for people of color.
