Thomas J. DiLorenzo write The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War, a book about events that went on while Abraham Lincoln was under term. More so, DiLorenzo criticizes Lincoln. He touched basis on many events that Americans honor Lincoln for and somethings the former president tries to cover up. The purpose of the book is uncovering the ugly truth about the significant events and to give the readers a deeper look on the things that went on while Abraham Lincoln was in office. Thomas DiLorenzo does not feel that Lincoln is for the people. More, specifically the black people. In this book DiLorenzo tries is best to condemn Lincoln. In deeper context, it changed the lives of those people that had lived in the south. An executive order was issued by president Abraham Lincoln. This is what is known to be the Emancipation of Proclamation. The executive order changed the federal legal status of enslaved people in the south for slaves to be free. Abraham Lincoln was the in hearts of many slaves. Specifically, the black people. DiLorenzo does not see Abraham Lincoln for a great man. He feels that Abraham Lincoln used this a cover up. Abraham Lincoln may have expressed his enthusiasm at the prospect blacks might gain their freedom if it did not interfere with the successful governance of the Union.
