Limon watched as his Adar [father], Naneth [mother], and Muindor [brother] get ready for the Spring Festival. His parents are warriors of Rivendell though not talked about much they are great protectors of their lands against the darkness. Limon was ready not caring much about his hair as much as everyone else in his family. His brother, Tadion, being the eldest of the two sat him down and braided his hair. “Naneth, can Tadion and I leave for the festival now?” Limon asked in a sweet tone wanting to listen to the music that's always played beautifully throughout the festival. His mother sighed as she replied “Can you wait for your Adar and I?” Limon pouted, still being able to get away with his childish manner, “I will have to be back …show more content…
He knows that Lindir is special to him, but he doesn’t want to confess it. After months and months he finally has the courage to tell is brother, but not his parents. He will tell his brother about his… attraction towards Lindir when he returns home. Limon sat for hours waiting, thinking about how he should tell his brother. He heard the door open and his name called “Limon! where are you?” It was his brother. Limon walked out to greet his brother with an uneasy look on his face. “What’s wrong Limon?” Tadion asked immediately upon seeing his Muindor. “I just wish to speak with you about something… but I don’t want you to hate me,” Limon said quietly. “I could never hate you, I helped raise you when Naneth and Adar were busy,” Tadion replied as he walked over to his brother. “Can we talk in my room?” Limon asked. “Of course,” Tadion said as he encouraged Limon to the bedroom. Limon sat on the bed and Tadion on a chair across from him. “What’s bothering you?” Tadion asked. “I… I have an attraction to someone.” Tadion almost laughed at his brothers words. “Is that it? That is fool-” “It’s an adan [man]” Limon interrupting the unmannerly words about to come from his brother. Tadion stayed silent processing the information given. That’s something new, he had never seen or heard of an adan having feelings for another adan. Tadion looked at his brother “That’s still foolish, …show more content…
He leaned against the wall closest to where the music was being played and let himself relax. The only thing he did was listen to music. He learned the words of each song they did. He stopped singing along with them about a decade ago. He stopped because Lindir wasn't the one singing anymore. Lindir had started working as Elrond’s right hand and had other duties. Elrond had noticed the change in behavior with the family. The changes between Limon and his parents was quite noticeable, as it was between the two muindors. Elrond watched Limon for a while. He did not understand what has made the elfling so quiet. He tried to talk to Limon before about what's bothering him before. That didn’t work though. He sighed, he never wanted to use this on Limon, but did so anyways. Elrond studied and used telepathy on the unaware edhel. Elrond was quick to find out what wrong with Limon. Elrond deciding it would be best to talk Limon face to face walked over to him. “Is that all that's wrong, you like Limon?” Elrond asked. Limon looked down with a blush dusting his cheeks “I… people will not accept me,” he replied hesitantly, “there is no need for my… preference to be made public.” “This is idiotic Limon, I see no problem with this,” Elrond declared, “each edhan gets one lover, it doesn’t matter who or what it is.” Limon stayed silent and Elrond sighed “do you accept it?,” he asked. “Of course I do!” Limon blurts out,

Love is a basic right that is inherited by anyone; however, the concept of homosexuality is rejected in society because it conflicts with societal norms that deem it appropriate for a man to be in love with a woman. As a result, Justin Chin’s book, “98 Wounds,” conveys the struggles of homosexuals whose sex lives are reflected by society’s rejection for them. Ultimately, in a society where homosexuality is rejected, homosexuals use sex as a means of expression in order to showcase their feelings of self-hatred and loathing to each other in the short stories, “Burn,” “Goo,” “Sugar,” “Woo,” “King,” and “Queen.” In the short story, “Burn,” the narrator has sex with his lover in order to feel affection that he has never received from his mother;…
