Lima beans are a perennial glabrous herb, and are mostly grow as a crop. There are two types of lima bean seeds one is big and one is small. They can grow in different varieties such as a bush or a vine. The big seeds take longer to grow then the smaller beans. The bigger beans grow as a vine or so called pole variety and produce lima beans. The smaller beans, which generally grow as a bush produce butter beans or baby beans. In order for beans to grow the beans need warm weather unlike the his cousin (peas). They need to be nourished by humans which means watering daily, and making sure the soil is holding moisture, but also being well drained.
