When she was just sixteen years old she became the first lady to be admitted to Orchestre de l’ópera. She was committed to the Orchestre Lamoureux for thirty-seven years. Lily contributed many film scores as well as earning the Grand Prix du Film Musical for her work on La Leçon de Musique score in 1979. Lily Laskine uncovered unknown works for the harp that are still used today such as Grossec’s Symphonie concertante for two harps. Lily recorded a lot with singers and other instruments. She did not only play classically, she liked to explore with different genres on the harp. Even now her recordings are famous. She interpreted a lot of the pieces to make them her own giving flexible phrasing and emotion.
