Lilo and Stitch is an American animated science fiction and family movie that was released in 2002. The movie is based on the Hawaii Island of Kauai. The two main characters, Lilo and Nani, experienced a horrible loss of their parents in a car accident. Nani, the older sister, has to be a mother figure for her younger sister Lilo. Cobra Bubbles, a social worker, is concerned that Nani is unable to fully take care of Lilo. He considered taking Lilo into foster care, but Nani does not approve, as Lilo and she are the only remaining members of their family. Lilo is lonely, because she has no friends since all the girls in her class make fun of her. One night, Nani overhears Lilo praying to have a friend. Nani agrees to let Lilo adopt a dog. They went to shelter, and Lilo takes instant interest in the new dog that came in last night. The shelter worker has questions about the …show more content…
She has to bring them both with her on her search for a new job. Lilo uses the time to try to teach Stitch new things, but does not know that the creator of Stitch, Jumbo, and his partner, Pleakley, traveled to Earth capture him. David, a friend of Nani’s, see’s her at the beach trying to get a job as a lifeguard. He suggests her to go surfing to uplift her mood. Jumbo was looking from a far and saw Lilo, Nani, and Stitch riding the waves. He thought this would be a great time to capture Stitch from underwater. While in the process of trying to get Stitch, Stitch holds onto Lilo as he is getting pulled from Jumba and it appears that Stitch is trying to drown Lilo. They all eventually reach safely to shore when David dives underwater and saves both Stitch and Lilo. Cobra Bubbles saw the whole thing and tells Nani that he will come in the morning and take Lilo away to put her in foster care.
