‘Tha Carter III’ is the Sixth studio album by American rapper Lil Wayne. The album was released on 10th June 2008 by Cash Money Records and Universal Motown now Universal Republic Records. The album's artwork features a baby picture of the rapper. The album was met with outstanding success, commercially and critically. The album debuted at number one the U.S. Billboard Top 200 chart, with sales of 1.005million copies in its first week of availability. It had the largest first-week sales for any album released in 2008 in the U.S. It is the first album to the million mark in a week since “The Massacre,” an album by American rapper 50 Cent released in 2005. By the end of 2008, it had sold a total of 2.88 million copies.

I first knew Lil Wayne when I was about ten years old. I saw a video for his song “Go DJ, ” and I have been in tuned with everything he puts out ever since. When he announced that he was about to release a new album in 2007, I was anticipating the release of the album. There were a lot of delays and leaks which were ruining the credibility of the album at the time. When it was finally released, it was like nothing I had ever heard before. Lil Wayne has a sense of originality that lacks in most artist in the industry.
Lil Wayne is an artist who makes his music personally. His process of making music is different from many people. He would listen to the beat and then think about the lines for about 30 minutes and walk into the booth to record what he thinks. Lil Wayne stopped writing music very long ago before his solo career even began. American artist Drake says Lil Wayne does not come up with lines abruptly, but he merely says what he feels or what he’s thinking then. He tries to be real as possible.
