To the minority of people on FTA who are Final Fantasy fans, shame on you if you didn't guess this. Considering Lightning is too perfect for a comparison to Erza out of the other Final Fantasy characters! Like Erza, Lightning has a more realistic tragic past and life. When she was 13 years old, her parents passed, and was forced to look after her younger sister. Essentially making the two orphans! Lightning explains that her and her younger sister, Serah, were quite devastated when their parents died. However, as the older sibling, Lightning had to be strong for Serah's sake. And overtime, that forced strong-willed attitude and personality made her emotionless and cold to others. Well even though that doesn't sound like Erza, Lightning and

The characters in the show Noah and Saskia are represented well, as they show honest depictions of typical teenage behaviour, which the audience can relate to dramatically to as the intended viewers are supposed to be in that age range. They are non-binary, or non-black or white characters. This means that the characters have depth and are not just subject to either being completely good or bad. They have traits of both negative and positive characters and we can see this in their dialogue and the audio-visual features of the show.…

In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Rainsford and Zaroff have distinct values regarding hunting, which generates many disagreements between them. The protagonist of Footloose is Ren McCormack a spunky teen with a bit of a mouth on him; I would say that he is a strong protagonist. This is due to his personality and the choices he makes throughout the plot. We see that not all the choices he makes are good ones as well as him being labelled the town troublemaker just for being who he is. His personality lends to his strength as a protagonist mainly through his temperament, and how he relates to other characters.…

In the short stories “The Ones who Walk Away from Omelas,” by Ursula K. Le Guin and “Battle Royale,” by Ralph Ellison, the characters are examples of those who conform and those who accept. In both stories, what the characters did was good and beneficial for their survival. The people who lived in Omelas were accepting of their situation and the consequences if they were to do things differently, while the main character in “Battle Royale” conformed into the person everyone in the book wanted him to be, if for no other reason than to save his life. In both “The Ones who Walk Away from Omelas” and “Battle Royale,” the characters did what was necessary for them to live, which makes their decisions “good” ones.…

Chopin uses Edna’s past fantasy lovers as a parallel to the progression of her relationship with Robert through the novella, ultimately foreshadowing her end of never reaching what she desires. Edna’s initial experiences with Robert in Chapter II is a parallel to her first fantasy lover: the cavalry officer. Edna’s emotional state with the cavalry officer, being “passionately enamored”(26), parallels a similar emotional state in her moment with Robert found in Chapter II. Chopin’s selection of the word “enamored” portrays how she doesn’t reach an intense burning love for the cavalry officer, since the image the word gives is a less powerful enchanted or captivated, not a deep love.…

This is something that most people never think about, using the karambit as an impact weapon. Why would you do this you ask? Perhaps if the altercation doesn’t appear to be a dire enough situation or you just don’t have it in you to cause someone permanent, serious injury or death. Even with a fixed knife or the blade engaged on your folder you can still strike with the back edge of the karambit blade to strike (think that a piece of steel slapped upside your head won’t hurt?)…

I have mixed feeling about this book, what happened in this book really took me by surprise. At the same time I couldn't help but to hope what could it mean now, after the surprising new developments of the story plot. I really like the magical world that Ms Woods created, it's colorful and I enjoy reading about the different breeds of dragons, history and variation of magics. However, I dislike how Elena remain clueless most of the time in this book. For someone who is new to the supernatural world, she doesn't seem too eager to learn their history.…
