This interaction worked very well and created a very professional feel. The lighting was very simple at times, not to detract focus, but at the right moments, it was very impressive. When scenes with ‘full on’ content, creating an emotive atmosphere, the light mirrored the responses evoked in the audience. This connection added an effect to the production, that would have been non-existent without it. There were not many special effects, but the use of the lighting seemed very important to the performance.…

By providing light to the stage, I was able to lose my focus on the biggest scenery on the stage, the house, and focus on the location where the action is taking place, for example, the school, school yard. The lighting designer, Renee Brode, provided all of those elements with no errors. I was also able to distinguish between the real life in the story and Ralphie Parker’s dreams because I saw a little change of colour in the…

The piece “Dual Light” has many messages and themes, but mainly they all relate back to the main idea of endings and new beginnings. The piece mentions four stories: a father who moved from Japan to Canada, a 15 year old boy who moved from Japan to Germany for ballet, a boy who moved from a small town to a big city and a woman who found herself floating in water, truly in the present. All of these stories are about choices and consequences, and how they can have a positive or negative effect on our lives. My initial reaction to the piece was that I was confused. I had never seen or experienced modern dance before, so it took me a while to get used to the different way of moving as well as how I should interpret the piece.…

The light was produced by electrons, which each have their own quantum, or energy level. When we run a current through the atom, the electron gains energy and jumps to a higher level to its excited state. When they fall back to their ground state, they release their stored energy through the form of light. The line spectra for different atoms differ because they each have a different amount of electrons which jump to different energy levels, therefore producing their own unique blend of color.…
