[Note: you don't need to list all of the instruments and players if it's a large ensemble like an orchestra or band.] The venue was comparatively a small room with a big stage and limited seating. The musicians were Benjamin Whitecomb and Myung Hee Chung, two of the UW- Whitewater music faculty members.Their choice of instruments were cello and piano respectively.
2. Choose two of the works you heard. Briefly describe the style, form, subject-matter, and other elements we’ve discussed in class. (That is, be sure to use the terminology we’ve laid out for describing music.) Compare the two works.

This was the first music concert I ever attended.I got to know how concerts or Chamber music are organized in the United States. The music played was so soothing and gave a peaceful impression throughout the concert. I liked how the piano and cello were played with perfect co- ordination. The thing that wondered me was how fast were the musicians playing their instruments without missing the order. The variations in the dynamics, tempo, pitch, harmonics and melody and the way the musicians maintained them from beginning to the end of the concert was very impressive. In conclusion, I enjoyed the concert

I, Randy Rivas, attended a performance with two separate chamber groups and a soloist. One of the chamber groups was Christine S. Lopez and Sung Ae Lee both performing on piano, the other was Paul Da Silva playing piano and Manon Robertshaw on cello, and lastly Sung Ae Lee doing a solo performance. This was performed at Cerritos College in the music building at BC-51. It began at eleven in the morning on February twenty sixth. First musical performance was the piece of Muzio Clementi’s sonata in B flat major for two pianos.…

It was very soothing and relaxing to listen to. The music that the group produced was smooth throughout the concert. In the second song, the trumpet player used the technique of covering the hole of the trumpet where the sound comes out of with his hand and it made the trumpet sound similar to the trombone. The music was smooth and slow enough that one could move to it and follow along with it.…

I do not think any words could have truly described how I nor the rest of the audience felt during that performance. The opinions and analogies of the pieces found in the program notes did slightly influence me. I agreed with and understood most opinions and comments of the performances. The listenings I did for my pre-concert assignment were not nearly the same thing as being in the auditorium. It was a completely different experience to see, hear and feel the performance in person as opposed to watching a video on a screen and trying to listen to the depth of the orchestra through…

What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere. The lights were dimmed so people could feel more comfortable and the music consisted of a good balance of upbeat music, and slow music. Songs were sung and people worshiped for about forty-five minutes. This was a very moving experience. Glancing into the audience, it was evident that everyone was engaged in the worship.…

Walking into the auditorium, I immediately noticed that the atmosphere of the concert was completely different from that of the classical concert I attended weeks earlier. To begin with, it seemed like there was much more of an audience. Everyone seemed excited for the concert to start. As for myself, I was also excited because, on the very front of the program, it said that there was a guest artist that was going to perform with the ensemble. The performers wore more of a business casual look, some were a little more dressed up than others, but overall they looked very well dressed.…

The emotions expressed by not only the music but by how the musicians looked while playing these pieces made me believe that this show meant a lot to them because they would sway to the music when they weren’t playing. It had my emotions spiral out of control because some of the music was happy then it turned sad in an instance, then it would go right back to something whimsical. It’s not the typical kind of music that I would listen to daily but I am happy that I got to attend this event and hear something that I wouldn’t normally.…
