Lifetime Mate: A Personal Statement Analysis

While the students and I sat at our desks in our Psychology 101 class today, our professor began speaking of a writing assignment that she would like us to complete. She began to hand out a sheet of paper with the instructions. I was slightly excited knowing that I excel, at times, when writing papers and this would be a chance to get my grade up. Hopefully to an A. As she handed the paper out, I wondered what topic I would research. There are so many topics in the field of psychology that interest me. I have even divulged myself into researching for my own personal knowledge, so this would be a piece of cake for me. And that's when I got the handout entitled "Lifetime Mate." For a minute I sat there confused. The instructions on the top of the page went as followed: "Write a personal letter to a future or current lifetime partner (husband, wife, or significant other)," and went on to prompt us with ten questions to answer in the body of our letter. Your sense of humor is by far the most enticing of all of your qualities. Your sense of humor not only makes you a joy to be around, but allows you to laugh at the hardships at life and look at things with an open mind.
