The real age assessment asked me quite a few questions concerning my exercise and eating habits. It was hard to answer honestly about where I currently am, and not base my answer on my past, when I was much healthier both physically and mentally. My real age ended up being 33.4 years old, 3.3 years older than I currently am. The website provided a vast amount of helpful information based off of the answers I gave. Adopting a “this too shall pass” attitude is one way to help decrease my stress. The information provided let me know highly anxious people are twice as likely to have a heart attack as someone who is mellower. Writing down my worries, deep breathing, and moving my body are pieces of advice …show more content…
Joined a yoga studio. Very expensive, but I think knowing I signed a contract will force me to adhere more to exercising and hopefully make it in at least four times a week. The clean and jerk goal was a good place to start because it was a lift I enjoy. Now I just want to make it to the gym/yoga class at least 4 days a week. I did attend two hot yoga classes and one warm one. Need major improvement in my flexibility, feels amazing when finished.
March 27-April 2- Attended one hot yoga class, a barre class (extremely hard, felt very awkward and out of place and wanted to leave, but made myself finish). The same suggestions concerning exercise and food still came up. My plan did and did not work. I did not accomplish my original goal. However, I was able to modify it and come up with something more realistic for the situation I am in. The calendars really helped, my family supported me and tried their best to encourage me despite me sometimes being very grumpy. Forcing myself to smile at myself and say out loud positive affirmations to myself really does/did help. I LOVE YOGA. Yoga is something I discovered during my Bachelor’s degree and then feel off after I graduated. It is definitely a practice I will keep throughout life. My plan would have worked better if I could have cut down on time studying, but then I would not pass my classes, or if I could have afforded to work less hours. I am very happy we had this assignment; it allowed me to allocate time because it had to do with school. This assignment helped me build physical strength as well as mental strength. Overcoming the negativity and mental setbacks of always feeling as I should be studying or working instead of spending time on myself was a huge deal to me. Overall, this gave me a better starting point when it comes to my health/fitness once school ends than having to start over from
