They went everywhere via horse, which I was kind of worried to go out on my own as I’d never ridden a horse without someone around before but with a few tips before I set off, I felt a little bit of extra confidence but I was still nervous. It was about a 6km ride to the top paddock which I spent a lot of the time day dreaming. Letting my eyes wander over the vast openness of the paddocks every so often I would notice a rabbit. The next morning, Mercy surprised Surina by joining her for breakfast on the sunny terrace in the backyard of her cottage. They enjoyed the leisurely meal to the sound of honey bees buzzing around an assortment of flowers in full bloom lining the edges of the garden. Indeed, the fragrance of the rhododendrons, chrysanthemums, foxgloves, roses, and lilies of the valley intermingled to create a unique heavenly perfume. In the past, Surina’s kinetic pace never allowed her enough time for breakfast other than a hasty granola bar before frantically rushing off to the hospital. In contrast, today she luxuriated in a proper full English breakfast.…

Growing up gay in machismo community had its difficulties. Not meeting the status quo can make you feel horribly excommunicated. Often times I would feel as if it was expected that I partake in "manly" activities that just made me feel uncomfortable. Cat-calling and football just weren 't for me. Because of this, I typically felt like I was a failure as a man.…
