Life support systems in spacecraft, without them, astronauts won't be able to visit space. All of manned spacecraft have life support systems. In simple terms, life support systems are equipment allowing people to feel as comfortable as on Earth.
Earth has an Atmosphere. The Atmosphere is the main shield on Earth. It provides breathable air, and it is responsible for comfortable climates. In space, climates are extreme, and there is a vacuum, an absence of matter, including air. Special equipment allows humans to visit space. This equipment are often referred as life support systems.
Vacuum, is the absence of air or any other matter basically, its nothingness. The lack of pressure causes body fluids to …show more content…
Many safety measures are taken to keep fungi and bacteria from growing on the space station. The ISS predecessor, space station Mir had a serious problem with fungi tearing down the materials of different machines and modules. That’s why the air, water and all the surfaces are constantly being cleaned to prevent such problems from happening (Barry, “Microscopic Stowaways”). The station’s life support systems and the astronauts make joined efforts to achieve this goal of keeping the station clean. The result of this is a longer lifespan of the station and a healthier …show more content…
