every journey begins with a single step, but you also have to take a second step, and a third, and as many as you need to reach to your destination." (Page 26) I use this law in my educational pursuit, especially during projects, tests, and others assignments. Let 's take a test for example. I know my goal for every test is to get 95%-100%, however I don 't just sit there keeping that goal in my mind and then on the morning of the test, cram everything in my head. I have done that in the past and merely achieved 91%-93%, which was close enough, but placed me in a more stressful, exhausted, and sleep deprived situation. Instead, I learnt to take things step-by-step. I started studying a day before the test, then two days before and now currently a week prior to the test. I break that further down and set 'mini-goals '. I generally study a page in an hour, a lesson in a day, and then an entire chapter in a week. This way I am completing mini-goals within my big goal, and in the end I am successful! Now achieving high scores on my tests are also the smaller steps to reach my bigger goal- getting into Harvard! If I get high grades, I would achieve the Year 1 Profiency, and if I achieve that, then I could get into …show more content…
In my perspective, this law means to take initiative- it means to do something because doing leads to understanding. Talking or thinking about doing something won 't get you anywhere, however putting forth effort and small steps to get the task done will get you near your goal. This law doesn 't mean to be overly impulsive and act out the first thing that comes into your mind, but rather to act out on something with a clear intention and commitment. This law also teaches people the action of non-action, the wisdom of remaining still and quite in certain situations. "...no matter what you know or who your are- no matter how many books you have read or what your talents are- only action brings potential to life." (Page 75) I apply this law in two aspects of my life, for my goals and during fights. For example, in June I was constantly looking at body 's that were 'fit ' and healthy on Tumblr and wished that I had a similar body. I looked back at my body and felt disgusted with the extra chubby areas. I soon realised that sitting around wasn 't going to burn any calories, just like ' you can 't cross the sea merely by staring at the water. ' (Page 74) Instead I decided to take action and went to the gym. Within 1 1/2 months I noticed slight differences, which was enough to make me happy because I was getting near my goal! I apply this law during fights that usually occur with my mother. When my mom and I
