Life Span Analysis

The average life span of an American is 77.9 years, 75.4 years for males and 80.4 years for women. Although the life expectancy of a person in America is quite high, 8.6 years of the total life span is spent being ill, which is ironic considering the United States carries such a preeminent medical care system (Robbins et. al. 3). It is important to work on one’s health to prolong the longevity of life. A healthier and longer life gives access to being able to accomplish one’s life’s goals, such as something from a bucket list, and make new experiences. Elements that influence health and long lives are the expenses of medical care, the social circumstances, the environmental conditions, heredity, and one’s lifestyle behaviors (Robbins et. …show more content…
It is important to learn from one’s mistakes, and take control of opportunities to grow as a person; by addressing one’s negative feelings, the individual can then move forward into solving the problem. I scored a fifteen out of twenty total for emotional wellness, which is considered excellent. I have difficulty with coping appropriately with stress and tension, just as I saw when evaluating my physical wellness. Once again, I plan to use methods of meditation, music therapy, and breathing techniques to bring myself back together in stressful situations. Instead of looking at the big picture, which can be overwhelming, I take baby steps and focus on small sections at a time. I remind myself that “progress is progress, no matter how small.” I sometimes feel good about myself, but also have days of low self-esteem. To fix this, I plan on not being so hard on myself and giving myself compliments daily; it will be a scenario of “fake it until you make it” to gain confidence. Spiritual wellness deals with the meaning of life and achieving inner peace. When I am put in stressful situations I sometimes get guidance by my spiritual beliefs. To improve on this, I will work on coping with stress and explore spirituality and my love for nature. I will also regain my sense of positivity and use it to guide myself and others through life. I often meditate and use method of crystal healing. I hope to expand my collections of crystals because each crystal associates with a different chakra and energy
