Life Sentence
Imagine that the life sentence was not in effect, and how much crime there would be. There would be little consequences, and people being illegal everywhere. It helps keep criminals from being in the public. And it’s always done fairly. And it’s a better option than life in prison with parole. It’s a scary thought to have the life sentence either way. The life sentence keeps criminals from being in the public. If they were not stuck in prison they could be out in the public harming more innocent lives. While they are in the prison they are given good, shelter, and very little commuting time. Sometimes they are given jobs to pass the time. They may cook or clean. But if they were

It isn’t because of their race. Reports shoe that other races get arrested just as much as others(guidelines). The sentence is done on a strict rule book. Ranging from that you have facts showing the crime, to determinin whether or not they can be in the public safely (guidelines). And lets say that youdidnt get the life sentence and had to stay out on the strees without shelter or food. Well, in prison you get food, and shelter ( guidline). And you will always have shelter in there. You will have a bathroom and a toilet. And sometimes may be able to go outside for basketball and other activities (guidelines). So it reall isn’t that bad. There are people who may disagree though. Some people may think that it is better for criminals to stay on the street. But it is better for them to stay in prison so they don’t stay oin the street and harm other people. Some people may say that they are racist and do it manly on the specific race. Studies show that racial differences do not determain what happens. It is done by certain stipulations. And some people may say that its easier for them to just stay on the stree without food. But in prison you will have shelte, toilet, food, and bed. Better than some people have it

When considering the changes the American prison system has undergone, do you think that the system has reached a point where it’s healthy for inmates and guards? When reading the second part of New Jack, going over the history of the prison system in America really struck me. The chapter “Scrap Heap” covers all the history of Sing Sing prison, but it also covers some basics about how prison was in general across America. It’s gut-wrenching to read about the conditions over time.…

Some exercise pens are outside but others are just a little room inside. This means many prisoners don’t see day light the whole time they are in confinement. They are not allowed to converse with others. They eat their meals alone in their rooms. Absolutely no one to talk with except letters, they receive in the mail.…

Imagine being enslaved for four hundred years, imagine gaining freedom, then imagine that freedom being stripped from you by our legal system. Ladies and Gentlemen I am here to talk about, inform, and propose what we shall do as a community to eliminate the criminal injustice we witness inside of our prison system everyday. The day slavery was terminated in 1863, when the Emancipation Proclamation was enacted and slavery ended, white men yet again found another systematic way to extort free labor out of African American men. The Thirteenth Amendment justified this which states, “Neither nor involuntary servitude, except as punishment for crime.”…

This would keep the prisoners in a better mood because they would be getting the proper amount of nutrition needed to be a functional member of the prison. Studies also show that certain vitamins help keep a stabilized mood which could help keep violence down in the prison. Exercise is also very important as it helps keep the body in good physical shape and it’s also shown to improve mood and help fight of depression so frequent exercise is good for keeping the prison population happy. I would also recommend for every prison to have a garden so the prisoners could grow their own food which would help keep prison food cost down but it is also a good way to relive…

The prison system is thought of as a solution to lower crime - a way to punish those who have committed crimes. Hopes of reformation are usually attached to those with lesser prison sentences and prison becomes a place of self-improvement. Long prison sentences are seen as a good tool for society because they isolate the wrongdoers from society. The experience is very different for people that are imprisoned and have served their due time. When newly-released people are sent back into society, they are expected to learn from their mistakes and function as better citizens.…

In the book “ The Death Cure”, the world is unsafe and the people in it are also unsafe. People take off from the airport without communicating to the main flight tower, fake documents are being made and the people from the government won’t recognize if it is real or not, also there appears to be sick people all over the place and they are highly contagious of spreading the sickness, the Flare virus to people. This essay is about how the world in the book is dangerous and several reasons why it is dangerous. First off, bergs, which are huge UFOs that the billionaires have in the book which were stolen by the WICKED (World in Catastrophe, Killzone Experiment Department) corporation, are taking off from the ground without communication to the flight tower. Which also takes up everyone’s time if they had to go somewhere important.…

As you can see white people really don’t serve their full sentences, while black people are more likely to serve prison time. This shows that African-Americans are less valued by society because they are more likely to serve their full sentence compared to whites. But for some people they think white people serve longer sentences. Which isn’t true because “Black and Hispanic men are more likely to receive longer prison sentences than their white counterparts since the Supreme Court loosened federal sentencing rule “(Taylor). We can see that there was a rule that is loosened for white people.…

Attention people of America I a fellow taxpayer have a proposition that could fix our prison overcrowding issue. We have been victimized by paying for everything the government needs. Prison overcrowding is one of the biggest things that we pay for. My solution to you is that we send all of the nonviolent and first time offenders to death, but the violent and repeating offenders to ISIS to help them take over the world. Killing the nonviolent and first time offenders allows no new offenders to become a repetitive one or nonviolent ones to become…

    Liability In Prisons

When the topic of legal liability in prisons came up in this class, I also found it very interesting and still struggle with what I think is the best way to handle it. I agree that it is a difficult topic to navigate because there many factors at play. As you mentioned, it is important the people running the prisons are held accountable for their treatment of prisoners and at the same time, I think about how prisoners are incarcerated for committing a crime against society (as we've seen this may not always be accurate but let's assume they had a fair prosecution, trial, etc..) and since prison is a punishment, prisoners should not enjoy too many luxuries or privileges. The study you cited seems to confirm the importance of this accountability and its effect on "curbing negative…

The minimal invasion argument states that death penalty is an invasion of people's privacy, liberty, and autonomy. A punishment that is less harsh than the death penalty such as life in prison is more acceptable and is a sufficient enough punishment for the convicted. Death penalty is a violation of someone's rights and liberty when there are other ways to punish someone. Bedau believes that society should stop death penalty or any punishment that violates someone's liberty or privacy. Society can still be happy and achieve the same results without having to have someone executed.…

Capital Punishments role in America plays a huge part in how America handles offenders and repeat offenders. Staticbrain.com reports that Time magazine says,” An estimated 2,000,000 people have been victims of crimes, from assault to murder. With insufficient laws to address these issues, criminals become careless and bolder. For this reason, there is a need for a death penalty.” Capital punishment, should not be abolished because, it takes committing a heinous act to receive the death penalty.…
