Life of Pi The title, like many other great novels do, sums the story into a neat and simple package. Life of Pi reveals his whole life, from the author's observations and from Pi’s narration. It shows his ideology and religious beliefs leading up to the point of the ship’s sinking.
Life of Pi can be categorized as fiction as it does not depict the truth. Life of Pie was written by Yann Martel was written on September of 2001.The author worked odd jobs, writing fiction books in the background. Life of Pi was inspired by two things: India, and a review by Updike of a Brazilian novel he read ten years ago in the New York Times Review of Books. One internal conflicts takes place within Pi. He has to decide to pass the barrier of killing and eating unbiasedly. He ultimately passes it to survive on the lifeboat. He kills the cook and kills mercilessly the fish he catches. Another internal conflict takes place within the orangutan/mother.
